Serving up excellence in communications for over 20 years, Susan has an unwavering commitment to bringing out the best in her clients. From offshore oil to provincial politics, marketing agency to corporate communications, strategic thinker to creative writer, there aren’t many industries that Susan’s career in communications hasn’t touched. When she looks back, her career highlights have the appearance of not being remotely connected, yet they are. They all reflect what happens when good communications planning meets a commitment to succeed.
“I have had the privilege of serving so many causes and addressing so many issues on behalf of my clients over the years,” shares Susan. “One of my favorite clients was the Calgary John Howard Society. They serve such an unknown and misunderstood part of the population. It’s hard not to put your heart in your work when you are helping turn people’s lives around.”
“Then there’s representing Canadian industry around the oil sands,” continues Susan. “There are always at least two sides to every story, and making sure my clients are honestly represented in a transparent way, with opportunity to tell their story, has always been important to me.”
Susan will always remember her time in the Newfoundland government with the most fondness. “It seems like a century ago when press conferences and the traditional news cycle were the norm. How did we even get our job done without cell phones?” surmises Susan. But there it is. Speech writing and media relations, speaking notes and issues management were the agendas of every day in her career with the Newfoundland government when Clyde Wells and Brian Tobin were the premiers about town.
Today, Susan enjoys serving corporate, small business and not-for-profit clients who appreciate Susan’s attention to detail, big picture strategic thinking, and her consistent approach to delivering excellent communications, on time and within budget.
